This is one of the greatest comics ever. Anyone who was ever a six-year-old kid should be able to relate.

There's absolutely nothing to dislike about this comic. When authors write comics, they attract two kinds of audiences, both of which are diametrically opposed in opinion of the author's work. I haven't met one person who hates Calvin and Hobbes, and it's because of the way Bill Watterson expresses himself through the all of the characters in such a way that anyone can understand, and even assign a personality to the character to make it a completely and undoubtedly unique experience for every individual. The charactes are flawless in their simplistic, but sophisticated style, and their thoughts and feelings are communicated perfectly through the great writing techniques that Watterson displays. It is for these reasons that Bill Watterson will always remain as my favorite cartoonist of all time.

Calvin and Hobbes (along with the cast of Bloom County) were the first comic characters I was ever exposed to. To this day I still find many of Bill Watterson's comics to be superior to the plethora of the syndicated and independent comics available. I don't think there are many people who have so skilfully made jokes which appeal to so many different types of readers. I recommend this comic to everyone.

One of the most deceptively subversive strips in the world. Calvin and Hobbes took us deep into the fantasy world and day-to-day advetnures of a young boy, and it turns out it's just as complicated there as it is out here. But funnier.

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic of all time, period. All the comics that I have read since are simply copying Watterson's awesome style. It was the first, and last, truly creative, intelligent, and hilarious comic.

Calvin and Hobbes is an absolute epic. I have attained the whole series of a period of years and it has been time well spent. Watterson is a genius when it comes to displaying characters. "Calvin and Hobbes" is far more distinct in it's approach to comedy; it appeals to so many people of different ages because of it's a clash of intriguing perspectives. The importance of Calvin and Hobbes is that it doesn't randomly throw jokes here and there; it gets the point through. With little words and a few panels it can sum up the tension and emotions that the characters are feeling. This clash of perspectives is funny and is why we can read one "Calvin and Hobbes" strip and be repeating it in our minds the whole day. It truly enriches the lives of all who read it...

I have been reading comics for decades and this is the best, bar none. What an imagination. Plus, the expressions on Hobb's face is priceless.

Calvin is funny michevious and clever. Hobbs is very calm most of the time and is like calvins concious. Put them together and you have a younger version of me.

I've also used the word 'genius' to characterize Bill Watterson over the years, and people get a funny look as if 'genius' and 'comics' can't go together. But there's no doubt about it...they do where Watterson's concerned. Having him stop creating new strips is like Michaelangelo leaving the Sistine Chapel half-done. He could have drawn for a lifetime and it never would have gotten old.

Comic is shown as a shockwave, therefore cannot download

Very nice comic, but as it is transmitted as Flash object (shockwave), it can not be read with a RSS feed player as Thunderbird.
Note that Garfield & Fox Trot have same problem!

This comic is absolutely funny in it's own right, but I think for guys, this comic tops all of them. Calvin and Hobbes reflects the world as a 6-year old kid does and it's something that guys can relate to no matter how old they get. No kid ever thinks "I think like a kid". No matter how young you are, you always feel like you are viewing the world as a mature adult and that is expertly captured in Calvin and Hobbes. Definitely a highly recommended comic strip!!!

This kid is much older than he appears, he is likeable, he is a real turd and a demon. When this was appearing daily, it was the last strip I looked at because I saved the best for last. Oh yeah, Hobbes is the kind of imaginary pal I always wanted.

I have never read a comic so full of life. Calvin is so hilariously comical and self-centered that I'm rolling fit to burst in my chair. Philosophy, humor, sentiment... Calvin and Hobbes has it all.

I love the comic and hate the difficulty of attempting to access it.
Some song and dance about Flash V.9
