Piranha Club is a long-running strip that I remember from years ago; my local paper used to carry it but it was called "Ernie" then. I was thrilled to come across it again when I started reading comics online.
Basically, Ernie is the straight man, and unfortunately he is surrounded by shady characters, who happen to be pathetic and not the least bit threatening as a result. His uncle Sid is an experienced skinflint, who doesn't spend nearly as much cooking up get-rich-quick schemes as he does make-others-poor schemes. Fortunately for his would-be victims, he's pretty bad at what he does, but is okay with that and never poses a threat to anyone with an IQ that's at least in the double digits.
The Piranha Club is filled with stupid, gross-out, "shock" humor (but WELL-WRITTEN stupid, gross-out, "shock" humor) and given time, is likely to become a favorite of anyone who enjoys madcap, offbeat comic strips.
